The Ministry of Health and Welfare has announced 13 health care effect assessment methods for the first track (individual case review): (1) Protecting teeth health, (2) Regulating the immune system, (3) Protecting bone health, (4) Regulating the gastrointestinal tract, (5) Regulating blood lipids, (6) Regulating blood sugar, (7) Protecting the liver, (8) Anti-fatigue, (9) Postponing aging, (10) Assisting in blood iron regulation, (11) Assisting in blood pressure regulation, (12) Adjuvant modulating allergic constitution, (13) Reducing body fat formation.
The review focus of the first track (individual case review) is to assess the completeness of the documents and whether or not the technical data of the health food product sufficiently support safety, health care effect, and quality.
There are two announced items for health food reviewed under the second track (standard specification): (1) Specification Standards for Red Yeast Rice Health Food, and (2) Specification Standards for Fish Oil Health Food.
The focus of the second track (standard specification) review is to assess the completeness of the documents and whether the manufacturing control, stability, and testing methods of the product meet the "Specification Standards for Fish Oil Health Food" or "Specification Standards for Red Yeast Rice Health Food".
